Abstract

The rapid development of information technology in education has encouraged the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) as digital learning environments that support student independence and motivation. This study aimed to develop an LMS as a learning resource and examine its contribution to students’ learning motivation. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) design conducted Universitas Muhammadiyah Bogor Raya, Bogor Regency, Indonesia. The participants consisted of 60 students selected through purposive sampling based on their active involvement in LMS-based learning. Data were collected using a learning motivation questionnaire, observation sheets, and LMS usage logs. The results showed an increase in students’ learning motivation after using the developed LMS, with the mean motivation score rising from 68.45 to 82.30. Statistical analysis indicated a significant difference between pre- and post-implementation scores (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that a well-designed LMS can serve as an effective learning resource and positively contribute to enhancing students’ learning motivation. Therefore, LMS development is recommended as a strategic approach to improve learning quality in higher education.
