Abstract

The Learning Management System (LMS) has become a crucial tool in online learning, yet students’ perceptions of its development and implementation require further exploration. This study aims to examine the views of third-semester students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Bogor Raya regarding the use of LMS, including experiences as LMS administrators. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through semi-structured interviews, direct observation, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s techniques. The findings indicate that students appreciate the ease of accessing course materials, flexible learning schedules, and interactive features such as discussion forums, which enhance understanding and academic engagement. Major challenges include dependence on internet connectivity, initial difficulties in using the system, and limited face-to-face interaction. Students expect the LMS to be continuously developed to match users’ abilities, incorporate modern technologies, provide structured training, and undergo regular updates. These findings highlight the importance of involving students from the design to the completion stages of LMS to ensure its effectiveness and user-friendly experience in online learning.
