PRACTICAL GUIDE: MANAGING AND ORGANIZING COURSE CATEGORIESIN THE MOODLE LMS
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to describe the implementation of course category management on the Moodle-based Learning Management System (LMS) at the PG PAUD Department. Effective organization is essential to maintain database integrity and user accessibility. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach through technical configuration of the LMS. Results show that establishing a hierarchical structure comprising a Parent Category for the Department and Sub-categories for academic semesters along with unique Category ID Numbers, significantly optimizes system administration. This systematic organization eliminates course accumulation on the front page, enhances server performance through better data mapping, and simplifies course archiving for administrators. Furthermore, the structured navigation reduces student cognitive load, allowing for a more efficient and professional digital learning environment.
